Biography

Linda Prescott-Clements

Linda is a highly respected educationalist with 20 years’ experience across the health, and higher / continuing education, sectors.

She initially trained as a scientist and has a PhD in Molecular Virology, however she was drawn to the field of Education from an early stage in her career, and has obtained an International Master’s Degree and PhD in Medical Education from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

In Higher Education, Linda has successfully held posts of Associate Dean for Learning, Teaching and the Student Experience, Associate Dean (Academic) and also Professor of Professional Education.

Within the NHS, Linda has led a wide range of educational projects on a national level, including the development, validation and implementation of competency frameworks for different healthcare professions, the development of a quality assurance framework for CPD, and a new approach for the successful remediation of doctors with performance problems.

She specialises in assessment methodology, and developed programmatic approaches to assessment for health professionals postgraduate training, as well as quality assuring Royal College examinations.

Linda is responsible for leading the Education Department within the College, including the accreditation of University Veterinary School degrees, oversight and quality assurance of the Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice and Specialists register. Linda and her team also develop and implement the Statutory Membership Examination, and are working on a range of new initiatives in consultation with the profession around Graduate Outcomes and outcomes CPD for members.
