Belinda Andrews-Jones

Biography
Belinda has been working within veterinary nursing for over thirty years. She has many qualifications in veterinary nursing under her belt. She obtained the Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Surgical) in 2004, then in 2006 she was the first person in England to achieve the prestigious American Veterinary Technician Specialist qualification. She also became a member of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Education, She is a member of the Fellow of Higher Education Academy. She also holds qualification is leadership and management from the CMI and ILM.
Belinda has worked in a broad range of veterinary environments, from first opinion practice, referral hospital, emergency and critical care, teaching within a university, veterinary business consultancy, and leadership of large nursing teams.
Belinda has also worked in the human sector, setting up and running a mass Covid vaccine centre, where she gained valuable insights into a comparable profession.
Belinda is an author of two book chapters in the BSAVA Manual of Advanced Veterinary Nursing and the BSAVA Manual of Practical Veterinary Nursing. She is also a well-renowned national and international speaker on veterinary nursing.
Belinda chaired the Trailblazer committee for the end point assessment aspect of the SVN apprenticeship. This was successful and is now implemented. She has also been an active member of the VN Futures project since 2017 with the Career progression working group.
