Terms of reference
The Certification Subcommittee answers queries from veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and others relating to certification matters. Often these are raised by Official Veterinarians and relate to official government type certification (e.g. certifying exports of goods from the UK).
Queries received by the Subcommittee are treated confidentially as they often contain sensitive and commercial information. Requests and queries received by the Subcommittee are quite varied and sometimes require discussion with Defra and APHA before the Subcommittee is able to give a full response.
Enquiries should be submitted to [email protected]. The Standards and Advice Team will then send the enquiry and all relevant material to the Subcommittee for consideration. When the Subcommittee return their views and comments, the Standards and Advice Team will prepare and forward the response to the enquirer.
Enquirers are asked to note that the Subcommittee may require further information on a specific aspect of an enquiry before a detailed response can be prepared and there may be some ongoing discussion before the Subcommittee has all of the relevant information to make a decision.
