Rosalyn Hayles

Biography

Rosalyn Hayles

Rosalyn practised as a litigation solicitor in a City firm, before moving into the field of professional regulation in 2004. She has investigated complaints and prepared disciplinary/fitness to practise cases for hearing at several health professions regulators, as well as the Financial Conduct Authority. As Director of Scrutiny & Quality at the Professional Standards Authority she spent six years reporting to Parliament on the overall regulatory performance of the nine individual health professions regulators, leading formal investigations into regulatory failures, and challenging panel decisions in the courts in the public interest.

Rosalyn currently works as a part-time case examiner for the General Medical Council. In addition, she is a lay member of the Regulatory Tribunal of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and of the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. In her free time she enjoys countryside walking and travel.
