Mrs Victoria Smith
Biography
Victoria qualified as a Solicitor in 1997 and has, since qualification, worked in a number of different legal environments. For many years she was a principal legal advisor in the Magistrates’ Court advising Magistrates’ on law, practice and procedure in the Court room. She then worked in commercial legal practice for a national law firm number of years before leaving practice to follow a portfolio career.
She currently combines a number of roles such as lay member of the House of Commons Standards Committee, Legally Qualified Tribunal Judge and an Independent Member of the Ministry of Defence Service Complaints Panel. She also sits for a number of Regulators on Fitness to Practice Panels.
Victoria is married with grown up children. She lives in South Wales where she is Chair of Governors at her local comprehensive school. In her spare time she enjoys running in the hills around her home, learning to play the piano and arial yoga. She is an enthusiastic if somewhat inept gardener.
