Dr Katharine Nelson MRCVS
Biography
Katharine graduated from Cambridge University in 2003. She began her career in mixed practice in Bedford and is currently Practice Principal of that same practice. The practice is now a Small Animal Veterinary Hospital providing clinical rotations for veterinary students. Katharine has past experience working for a national Emergency and Critical Care provider.
Katharine holds an MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour and is an RCVS Advanced Veterinary Practitioner in both Clinical Animal Behaviour and Small Animal Surgery. She is an AVP assessor and VetGDP Advisor and Peer Reviewer.
Katharine has been a member of an NHS Health Research Authority Ethics Committee since 2018, providing ethical review of medical and social research. She has also acted in a consultancy capacity for a pharmaceutical company and written articles for Companion and the Veterinary Times.
Katharine lives with her two teenage sons. When she is not providing taxi services or supporting football matches from the sidelines, she enjoys gardening and singing in a community choir.
