Caroline gained an Honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of St Andrews in 1991, before going to Liverpool to study Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from Liverpool in 1996 with commendation (distinction in Equine) and spent the first few years in mixed and equine practice. In 1999 she set up and opened Severn Veterinary Centre, in Worcester which expanded to a 6 centre small animal first opinion and orthopaedic and spinal referral practice, with a rehabilitation and hydrotherapy facility in locations across Worcestershire and Warwickshire. She has a particular interest in management, dermatology and canine rehabilitation and acupuncture.
In 2017 the practice became part of Vet Partners, when she became a Business Development Director, for the Midlands and South West. In 2019, she became Senior Business Development Director with Vet Partners, overseeing all small animal practices, hospitals, referral practices, mixed practices and a nursing school in the Southern region of the UK. She was also part of the acquisition team, representing Vet Partners to prospective vendors. She set up and ran the Charity of the Year, liaising with all the main Charity Groups.
Caroline undertakes independent veterinary business consultancy work for private equity and veterinary sector industry partners. In 2022/23 she undertook an interim role as Clinical Director at Bromyard Vets, and worked as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at Harper/Keele Veterinary School.
Caroline was BSAVA West Midlands Chair (2014 -2017) and representative on the PSS Group at the RCVS (2015-2018), and the BSAVA Congress Committee.
