Dr Jeremy Kirk VetMB MRCVS
Biography
Having previously gained a BA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge, then a PhD in Genetics from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Jeremy worked as a schoolteacher and a GCSE examiner. After returning to Cambridge to study veterinary medicine, Jeremy has worked in Mixed and then Small Animal independent general practice.
Jeremy has retained a strong interest in education. He is a member of the RCVS statutory membership examination board, he is an examiner for RCVS OSCE exams, AMTRA SQP viva exams and Central Qualifications veterinary nursing diplomas. Jeremy also sits on the scientific committee of the BSAVA.
Outside his veterinary career, Jeremy has been a school governor for 12 years, chairing the governing body through two Ofsted inspections. He is a scout leader and has assisted with coaching the local youth rugby team. Jeremy is married with 3 children; his interests include fitness and current affairs.
