Riding Establishment Training and Induction Course
The Riding Establishment Training and Induction Course runs annually for both veterinary surgeons looking to become a Riding Establishment Inspector and for existing Riding Establishment Inspectors who need to complete their 5-year refresher training.
All inspectors who are due to complete their refresher training in 2025 have been contacted and invited to attend.
New applicants: You will be asked to complete an online webinar series, before attending an in-person training day.
Refreshers: You will be asked to complete an online webinar series, before attending either a remote Q&A session or an in-person training day.
Training dates
Webinar series
The Riding Establishment Inspector Training and Induction Course is compulsory for all new applicants wishing to join the Inspectorate list and those due to refresh their training on a 5-year cycle. The webinars will be available to view on the RCVS Academy and will need to be completed within 4 weeks.
In 2025, the details for accessing the course will be released on Monday 12 May, and the webinars must be completed by 23:59 on Sunday 8 June.
In-person training
This is compulsory for new applicants and encouraged for refreshers. Refreshers can choose whether to attend the in-person training or a remote Q&A session.

Location: The Horse Trust, Home of Rest for Horses, Speen, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, HP27 0PP
Q&A sessions
The remote Q&A sessions are only available to refreshers, if not attending the in-person training. The dates for the sessions are:
- Monday 16 June, 9:30am –11:00am
- Tuesday 8 July, 2:00pm – 3:30pm
