Veterinary nursing manpower survey launched
14 August 2003
The biggest and most extensive survey of veterinary nursing is currently in progress. The survey, being carried out by Lantra, is jointly sponsored by the RCVS, British Veterinary Association, British Small Animal Veterinary Association, British Veterinary Nursing Association and Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons, and will provide vital information about the role of VNs in practice, their training and employment trends.
A total of 13,000 colour-coded questionnaires were sent to all Listed VNs, all recently lapsed VNs, all veterinary practices, all student VNs and all VNACs last week (beginning 4 August). Results of the survey should be available by the end of September and will be published widely.
It is very most important that a high response is received if this research is to be a valid measure of the current state of veterinary nursing - DO PLEASE USE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE YOUR SAY.
If you haven't received your version of the questionnaire and would like to respond, please contact Richard Evans (024 7669 6996) at Lantra. Questionnaires should be completed and returned to Lantra (Lantra House, Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, Warwickshire, CV8 2LG) by 29 August 2003.
