Spot checks underway for accredited practices
9 September 2005
We would like to advise all practices that have been accredited under the new RCVS Practice Standards Scheme that spot checks of a number of randomly selected accredited practices will take place between 1 October 2005 and 31 December 2005.
At any time during this period, an Inspector may visit an accredited practice to check that Standards are being complied with. These spot checks, in between formal inspections, are important for the credibility of the Scheme to provide assurance to the public that standards are being maintained.
However, practices should be aware that these will not be full inspections, and no fee will be payable, although the Inspector may look at any of the individual matters covered during a "regular" inspection.
It is hoped that practices will be also able to use this opportunity to obtain advice on how to meet the new standards.
In addition, a new "Frequently Asked Questions" section on Practice Standards has been added to the website to answer some common queries.
