RVPP / Practice Standards Scheme renewal fees due
20 March 2019
Annual fees are now due which allow practices to remain on the Register of Veterinary Practice Premises (RVPP) or, if RCVS-accredited, in the Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) for 2019-2020.
The RCVS hold the RVPP on behalf of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) and have now sent invoices for the RVPP fee to all practice premises which are not currently accredited under the PSS, to remind them that the fee is due before 1 April.
Under the VMD’s Veterinary Medicines Regulations, veterinary surgeons may only supply veterinary medicinal products (with the exclusion of AVM-GSL products) from registered veterinary practice premises.
If a practice is accredited under the PSS, they will have the RVPP fee incorporated into the Scheme’s annual fee, which also needs to be paid before 1 April. The annual fee for the PSS has increased to £456.00 (including VAT) for main or standalone premises and £125.00 (including VAT) for branch premises.

The annual fee for the PSS has increased to £456.00 (including VAT) for main or standalone premises and £125.00 (including VAT) for branch premises.
These fee increases allow the RCVS to continue to effectively deliver some of the benefits of the Scheme. The RVPP and PSS fees can be paid to the RCVS by cheque, bank transfer or BACS. Details of how to pay are contained in the invoice. Compliance with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations is checked as part of the PSS assessment process.
Practice premises that are not RCVS-accredited pay the RVPP fee only and may be subject to inspection by the VMD during the course of the registration year (from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019), to check they are compliant with the regulations and for which they have to pay an additional fee.

If your practice is not RCVS-accredited and you have any queries regarding joining the scheme, or if you are from an already RCVS-accredited practice and have further queries, please contact the Practice Standards team on 020 7202 0767 or via email.
