Riding Establishments Subcommittee seeks new member
29 February 2024
The RCVS Riding Establishments Subcommittee, the body responsible for maintaining the list of Riding Establishment Inspectors and setting the standards for their admission and retention on the list, is currently seeking a new member, following the retirement of longstanding member Bertie Ellis.
The Subcommittee, chaired by our Junior Vice-President Linda Belton, is looking for applicants who are current veterinary Riding Establishment Inspectors, familiar with trekking centres and seasonal establishments, with an interest in the regulations and their development and who want to play a role in governing the inspectorate. If you are interested in the role, or would like further information about what would be involved, please email Senior Standards & Advice Officer Stephanie Bruce-Smith on [email protected]
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind Riding Establishment Inspectors that they will need to register for the annual Riding Establishment Inspector Training and Induction Course, which inspectors need to complete to join/remain on the list, no later than Wednesday 6 March 2024. The deadline for payment for the course is Friday 12 April 2024.
The course’s webinars will be available to complete from Wednesday 15 May to Wednesday 12 June. After completing the webinar series, new applicants must also attend an in-person training day on Wednesday 19 June.
Those who are refreshing their membership of the list can either attend the in-person training day or one of our online Q&A sessions which take place on Friday 21 June (9.30am to 11am) or Friday 12 July (2pm to 3.30pm).
