RCVS Trust seeks new Chair of Trustees
14 May 2004
The RCVS Trust is looking for a Non-Executive Chairman to lead the Board of Trustees in the delivery of its ambitious new five-year strategic plan of growth and development which was approved in November 2003.
The Trust, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2008, provides two key educational services to the veterinary profession:
Library and Information Service (LIS)
The LIS is a leading provider of animal health information. The services offered include a growing range of electronic services such as an online catalogue, online customised searches and quarterly e-updates on new information for special interest groups.
Educational grants programme
The Trust has been a grant-maker since its earliest days and since 2000 has disbursed almost £1,000,000 in practice- and university-based grants across a wide range of species and disease areas.
The current Chairman, Dr Lydia Brown FRCVS, who will be stepping down in June 2004 after four years as Chairman and nine years as a Trustee, said, "This will be a key appointment for the Trust; the organisation has developed a clear strategic direction and is now poised for significant growth. The incoming Chair will build on progress achieved to date, and lead the Board with energy and focus."
Appointment of the new Chair is expected to take place over the summer.
