RCVS shines spotlight on reasonable adjustments, VN Futures, and RCVS Academy at upcoming VMG Congress
31 March 2025
This April, we will be attending the Veterinary Management Group (VMG) Congress taking place at the Crowne Plaza, Stratford-upon-Avon on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 April.
At the congress we will be hosting three sessions, each of which focus on empowering veterinary professionals to be to best they can be, albeit in a range of different areas.
Thursday 24 April
Using reasonable adjustments to boost productivity and retain talent - 2pm to 2.45pm, Ballroom
This first session will feature speakers from our Advancement of the Professions Team – Angharad Belcher, Director for the Advancement of the Professions, and Gurpreet Gill, Leadership and Inclusion Manager. Alongside Angharad and Gurpreet, speakers Claire Hodgson and Olivia Anderson-Nathan from British Veterinary Chronic Illness Support (BVCIS) will also be presenting.
In the session, delegates will learn about the headline results from the joint RCVS-BVCIS Chronic Illness and Disability Survey, and how the challenges facing colleagues in veterinary with disabilities, chronic physical and mental health conditions and neurodivergence highlight wider issues within workplaces with retention, wellbeing, and support.
The running of this session also coincides with our 'Let’s talk adjustments' campaign, launched back in March to raise awareness and empower everyone in veterinary workplaces, no matter their role, disability or health condition, to have important conversations around reasonable adjustments.
The future of team-based veterinary healthcare – where next? – 4pm to 4.50pm, Charlecote Room
Our second session will be led by our VN Futures Project Lead, Jill Macdonald, and Director of Veterinary Nursing, Julie Dugmore.
This interactive session will share key findings from the VN Vision project and explore how we can empower nurses to work to their professional capacity, enhancing team-based healthcare, client accessibility, and practice efficiency.
Friday 25 April
Utilising the RCVS Academy to support your team with their professional development – 2.50pm to 3.40pm, Charlecote Room
Led by Charlotte Rodia RVN, RCVS Academy Digital Learning Content Writer, this session will show delegates how make the most of our free digital learning platform, The RCVS Academy, to support the professional development of teams.
On the stand
Across both days, members of our staff will be available to chat about all things RCVS. So, if you’re attending, come and say hi! We look forward to seeing you there.
