RCVS Question Time meeting on 24 March in London
10 March 2011
Veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses are invited to put their questions to our Officer team at a Regional Question Time meeting in London on 24 March.
RCVS President Peter Jinman, his fellow Officers and VN Council members, will be at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel, near Edgware Road, in central London, to listen to veterinary concerns, and discuss issues currently affecting the profession.
Discussion topics are open, however, at the last meeting (held in January in Norwich), participants asked if the RCVS is likely to become more involved in issues of negligence and competence; about the introduction of the new Level 3 Diploma for Veterinary Nurses; and, as practice owners are not always veterinary surgeons or nurses, thus falling within the RCVS’s jurisdiction, how clinical practice could be regulated.
All veterinary surgeons and nurses working in the local area have been invited, and the meeting is open to anyone working in the veterinary team. The evening will start at 7pm, with a free finger-buffet, and the question session at 7.30pm.
RCVS Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) ‘surgeries’ will also be held in London from 11am-5pm on the same day, here in Belgravia House, Horseferry Road, SW1P 2AF.
These are free 45-minute sessions offered on a one-to-one basis with a PSS inspector, and open to practices thinking of joining the Scheme, or those who are PSS-accredited and need some advice about an inspection.
Places for the evening meeting, or a PSS surgery, can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis by contacting Fiona Harcourt on [email protected] or 020 7202 0773.
We look forward to seeing you!
