RCVS launches free interactive Academy Live sessions
29 January 2025
The RCVS Academy, our free digital online learning platform, is inviting veterinary professionals to attend free live CPD sessions as part of its new Academy Live series.
The RCVS Academy was launched in 2022 and offers free digital learning to support and develop veterinary professionals in areas relating to veterinary regulation and professional responsibilities. It is free to access at any time from a range of devices and offers courses in topics such as client confidentiality, complaint management, leadership, and support for students and newly qualified professionals.
Following a successful pilot in November 2024, in addition to the on demand online courses, the RCVS Academy has now launched its new Academy Live initiative – a series of free, live interactive sessions based on content from the RCVS Academy courses.
RCVS Head of Academy, Catherine Hemingway, said: "After successfully running three Academy Live sessions in November last year, we are really looking forward to hosting more interactive Academy Live sessions throughout 2025 for veterinary professionals.
"Through expanding the provision of the Academy, learners are able to access a broader range of learning formats to best suit their individual needs. Our Academy Live sessions allow learners to interact with subject matter experts, ask questions and discuss the subject matter with peers. This, in turn, has the ability to increase and enhance the impact and application of learning and development."

"All Academy Live sessions have been designed to complement existing and future Academy content. We hope to see as many veterinary professionals as possible making the most of this new element from the Academy.”
There are currently three Academy Live sessions open for registration:
- Roles and responsibilities of a clinical supervisor – Tuesday 25 February 2025, 1pm to 1.45pm (For those considering becoming a clinical supervisor)
- RCVS 1CPD – record and reflect – Tuesday 4 March 2025, 1pm to 1.45pm (For veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses)
- Roles and responsibilities of a clinical supervisor – Tuesday 11 March 2025, 1pm to 1.45pm (For those considering becoming a clinical supervisor)
RCVS Academy Live sessions are designed to be short, interactive, and highly engaging, offering plenty of opportunities for questions and lively discussions. Please note that these sessions will not be recorded, so we encourage you to attend live to make the most of the experience.
For on-demand learning on a wide range of topics, log into the RCVS Academy with your RCVS My Account details. All learning, both Academy Live and online on demand Academy courses can be recorded on the 1CPD platform, contributing to the annual CPD requirement for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.
If you have any questions about the Academy or the new live sessions, please email the RCVS Academy Team on [email protected].
