RCVS Fellows invited to stand for two vacant positions on Fellowship Board
29 April 2024
RCVS Fellows are being invited to stand for election for two vacant positions on the RCVS Fellowship Board. The vacant positions are Chair of the Fellowship Board and Chair of the Credentials Panel for the Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice pathway.
The elected candidates will play key roles in shaping the direction of the Board and Panel and will help lead the Fellowship’s ongoing work to improve the diversity of its members, sharing knowledge and promoting the work of the Fellowship in the broadest sense. Each successful applicant will serve a three-year term, starting in Autumn 2024, and will also have the opportunity to stand for re-election after their first term.
The Chair of the Fellowship Board should be a prominent and visionary leader capable of spearheading the continued advancement of the Fellowship. They will be tasked with overseeing the meticulous process of appointing new Fellows, determining and directing the implementation of the Fellowship’s strategy to deliver the objectives agreed by the RCVS Council and overseeing the work of the Fellowship Science Advisory Panel.
Chairs of the Credentials Panels should be able to make informed assessments of applicants within the relevant pathway to Fellowship and chair any required appropriate panel meetings. Chairs co-ordinate and oversee a review of applications, within their panel area, by their panel members. Chairs will ultimately list all the applicants that meet or exceed the required criteria within their panel area after assessment and make appropriate recommendations to the Fellowship Board.
Fellows interested in standing for election will need to fill out an election nomination form, which can be found on our Fellowship election page. This form includes a statement that outlines why you think you should be elected and proving that you have the backing of two other RCVS Fellows.
All applications and nomination forms should be sent to [email protected] by 4pm Friday 24 May.
