RCVS expresses concern about the Government White Paper on "The Future of Higher Education"

RCVS is concerned that proposals contained within the Government's recent White Paper on 'The Future of Higher Education' could have a serious effect on the level of debt carried by veterinary students and new graduates, which would particularly affect those wanting to work in veterinary research, farm animal practice, or rural practices more generally.
The Department for Education and Skills has invited comments on the White Paper by 30 April 2003, but in the meantime, the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education and Skills has been holding an enquiry into the proposals.
