RCVS Disability Working Party publishes guidance
16 October 2003
The RCVS Education Committee this week approved guidance for veterinary schools on the admission of students with disabilities to the professional veterinary degree course.
The guidance was produced by the Committee's Disability Working Party (see Latest News published Monday 9 December 2002), following two meetings and extensive consultation with admissions staff at the veterinary schools.
The veterinary schools requested guidance on issues raised by the recently amended Disability Discrimination Act (1995) and they have welcomed this guidance as helpful and constructive. It also provides useful information to people who wish to apply to veterinary school.
It will be amended and added to, particularly as more information is made available through the DIVERSE project.
