Quiz the College at upcoming Regional Question Times
19 April 2017
We will be holding Regional Question Time meetings in May and June to give members of the veterinary team the opportunity to put their questions to us, and for our team to hear their views.
The first event will take place at the Village Hotel Club in Blackpool on Monday 15 May, and the second will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Belfast on Tuesday 13 June. Both events are free to attend and start with a buffet supper at 6.30pm, while the main event begins at 7.15pm with a discussion chaired by RCVS President Dr Chris Tufnell.
Pam Mosedale, Lead Assessor for the Practice Standards Scheme (PSS), will also be at the event offering free 45-minute private appointments from 12-5pm in Blackpool, and PSS Assessor Anne Lawson will be on hand from 8.30-1pm in Belfast. These appointments can cover any aspect of the PSS, whether that is a broad overview or specific questions in light of an upcoming assessment. The appointments are open to all existing PSS members, as well as those considering joining the Scheme for the first time.
A member of the RCVS Advice Team will also be at the event in Blackpool, offering free 15-minute private appointments from 1.30-5pm. These appointments are available to any member of the veterinary team, and can cover any questions about the RCVS Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Surgeons or Veterinary Nurses. They are completely confidential, and back-to-back appointments are available for those with more complex questions.
At both Regional Questions Times delegates choose the topics to be discussed on the evening. Subjects raised by guests at recent meetings include: alternative dispute resolution; Vet and VN Futures; Brexit; Schedule 3 review; the Mind Matters Initiative; Fellowships; and the Practice Standards Scheme.
Those attending the event can submit questions in advance as well as putting questions to the panel on the night.
