Question Time travels to Lancashire
3 March 2010
The RCVS Officer team will be heading to Preston on Thursday 18 March to take questions from members of the veterinary profession. Veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses, practice managers and others involved in the profession are all invited to the meeting to debate current veterinary issues.
RCVS President Professor Sandy Trees will be chairing the meeting, and will be joined by the Officer team and VN Council members to answer questions from the floor. The meeting will be held in the Admiral Suite at the Marriott Hotel, Preston. Guests are invited to join colleagues for a drink and a bite to eat from 6:30pm, followed by Question Time at 7:15pm.
The guests set the agenda for the evening and questions are welcome on any veterinary issue – likely topics include veterinary legislation, veterinary nurse training, disciplinary issues and new standards for the Practice Standards Scheme. The meeting will finish at approximately 10:00pm.
All veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses in the local area will receive a personal invitation to the meeting. For further information, please contact Lydia Meakin on 020 7202 0773, [email protected].
While in Preston, the RCVS will also be holding two types of ‘surgeries’. For the first time, new graduates and their employers will be able to book a session with an RCVS Postgraduate Dean to discuss the Professional Development Phase. Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) surgeries are also available for practices who are thinking of joining the Scheme, need some help with an upcoming inspection or simply want a one-to-one chat with the Chairman of the Scheme or an inspector. Both types of surgery will be held between 11am-5pm on 18 March at the Marriott Hotel and you can book a free 45-minute appointment by contacting Lydia Meakin via the details above.
