Practice Standards in demand – apologies for delays
7 May 2009
Last year about one practice a week applied to join the Practice Standards Scheme. This year, that figure has leapt to about one a day.
We are delighted that so many practices have opted to join the Scheme, and demonstrate to the public and the profession that they are maintaining high standards. However, the large increase in enrolments has meant that we are experiencing some delays in processing applications.
Additional resources have been added to the team but there is currently approximately a 12-week delay between the inspection taking place and the report being processed through the system, including referral to the necessary committee for approval of any conditions required, and a further response being sent to the practice.
We offer our apologies to those practices that are eager to achieve their accreditations. Thank you for your patience.
