Nominations for Councils: time to have your say?
10 December 2008
Whether you are a registered veterinary surgeon or a listed/registered veterinary nurse, if you would like the chance to become a member of your regulatory body's Council and help shape the future of your profession, now is the time to think about standing for election.
Nominations have now opened for both Councils, which share the same deadline of 31 January 2009 for returning the necessary candidate information and nomination forms to Belgravia House.
All prospective candidates will need to provide the signatures and registered/listed addresses of two proposers, and should also submit a short biography, 'manifesto' and photograph for inclusion in the elections booklets.
Voting papers will be distributed to those veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses eligible to vote in March 2009, and the results will be announced in early May.
Successful candidates are appointed for a four-year term of office, which will formally commence on RCVS Day in July.
Further information, guidance notes and the relevant forms are available for both Councils' elections either from RCVSonline or by contacting the appropriate member of staff (see below).
