New Practice Standards available
12 November 2009
The five-year review of the Practice Standards Scheme is now complete and the new Manual and Rules were approved by Council at its meeting on 5 November.
The review undertaken by the Practice Standards Group (PSG), which includes representatives from all of the key veterinary and veterinary nursing organisations, has been thorough, and included consultation with the wider profession.
The updated Standards are reflected in the new Manual, which can be downloaded from the 'Related documents' section on the right.
The new standards will come into force next April, and accredited practices will be given time to comply: it is not likely that any major investment in new facilities or equipment will be required.
“My thanks to the members of the PSG for their hard work in developing a robust new set of Standards that will take the Scheme into its next phase,” says Chairman Jill Nute.
“Thanks also to all those who contributed to the consultation phase – all comments were listened to and fed into the PSG.”
