New design for new edition of Practice Directory
3 October 2003
The new edition of the RCVS Directory of Veterinary Practices has undergone some important changes to make it more informative and simpler to use.
The Directory, which aims to provide the most comprehensive published listing of veterinary services in the UK, will be mailed to members shortly and is available to order now.
The 2003 edition differs from earlier versions in a number of ways:
-
The layout of the entries has been reorganised and simplified, using graphic symbols rather than the old "tramline" layout. The entries now concentrate mainly on the species treated by a practice, rather than the technical details of facilities.
-
Charity clinics are included for the first time. These clinics are clearly marked to distinguish them from commercial practices, because their clients may have to meet stringent criteria.
-
A new 'region' - Overseas - has been added for those practices outwith the UK who wish to be included. As more animals travel abroad, we hope that this will prove to be a useful addition.
-
A new section has been added, containing a list of RCVS approved Veterinary Hospitals.
Advance orders may now be placed for the 2003 edition by telephone on 020 7202 0762. Discounts are available for orders of five or more copies.
