Members - have you received an order from PinPoint Publishing?
13 February 2004
We should like to draw members' attention to potentially misleading correspondence that they may have received from an advertising company called Pinpoint Publishing.
This company was formerly contracted by the RCVS to commission advertising in the "Buyers Guide" section at the back of the RCVS Directory of Veterinary Practices - a contract that will terminate following publication of the 2004 Directory.
However, it has recently come to light that Pinpoint Publishing is now issuing veterinary practices with order forms for advertising space within the 2004 Directory.
These order forms are ambiguous and imply that there is a charge for the normal practice entry that displays employee and contact details, interests and branch information.
We would like to assure members that this is not the case. Practices may continue to advertise their details in the Directory, and online in Find a Vet, free of charge. Indeed, a letter requesting updates to this information will be circulated to members by the RCVS within the next few weeks.
Unless members wish specifically to advertise in the "Buyers Guide" section (see right), we would ask them, please, to ignore any correspondence that they might receive from Pinpoint Publishing.
