Give us your views at the next RCVS Regional Meeting
29 September 2004
It's time again for the RCVS Officers to pack their bags and make their way to different parts of the country to meet local vets, veterinary nurses and practice staff. Three times a year Officers visit a different part of the UK to meet the vets in the area and discuss issues of concern and topical veterinary matters in an informal atmosphere.
In January the Officers visited Yorkshire and Hampshire. In April they travelled to West Sussex and Scotland and at the end of November they will host two more Regional Meetings, the last two for 2004, in Staffordshire and Northamptonshire.
On Tuesday 23 November RCVS President John Parker and his team of Officers will be at The Roman Way Hotel in Cannock, Staffordshire. The following day, Wednesday 24 November, they will travel south to The Hilton Hotel in Northampton. The meetings will focus primarly on the new Practice Standards Scheme and the new Veterinary Surgeons Act. However, the Officers always welcome open discussion and are very happy to talk about local veterinary issues. If you have a question for the Officer team that may benefit from some background research before the meeting, please send your question(s) to Danielle van den Berg in the External Affairs department at least a couple of weeks before the meetings.
Both meetings will commence at 8:00pm and will finish at approximately 10:00pm. A buffet supper will be served from 7:00pm and delegates are encouraged to join the Officers before the meeting for a glass of wine and a bite to eat. Printed invitations will be sent to all members within easy travelling distance of the venues. However, all members, as well as veterinary nurses and practice staff, are very welcome to attend.
It is essential to reserve a place at the meeting. Therefore, if you would like to attend please contact Danielle van den Berg in the External Affairs department on 020 7202 0766.
