First meeting of the Science Advisory Panel
30 January 2014
This week saw the first meeting of the Science Advisory Panel, a newly constituted committee which will provide a scientific underpinning for the work of the RCVS.
Chaired by Professor the Lord Trees, the Panel will, among other functions, advise on scientific issues relevant to the professional conduct of veterinary surgeons; advise on research-related issues relevant to the education of UK veterinary students; ensure that any debate on veterinary issues is based on good evidence; and provide general advice on scientific issues relevant to recognised veterinary practice.
Rita Jorge, Head of Research for RCVS Knowledge, said: “This was a very productive first meeting for the members of the Science Advisory Panel and the members look forward to supporting the College and the profession through the provision of expert scientific advice and guidance.”
