Applications now open for VN Trustee vacancy
27 March 2012
After seven years of dedicated service, Tracy Mayne, our Veterinary Nurse Trustee, is now stepping down from our Board of Trustees, so we are looking for a suitable replacement for her.
At a time when we want to develop more active support for veterinary nurses, this is an important appointment, so we hope to recruit someone who has a strong vision and new ideas about how this ambition can be realised.
Tracy (pictured) discussed being a Trustee during an interview with the Small Charities Coalition last year, saying: "I wanted to be a part of a Trust that had its finger on the pulse of what the profession needed to continue to evolve."
The Board of Trustees is looking to recruit a Registered Veterinary Nurse with suitable experience and outlook, to join the Board starting from the AGM in June 2012.
The appointment is for three years in the first instance, and Trustees attend a minimum of three meetings per year.
Additional time will be needed to support veterinary nursing projects and develop collaborations with relevant individuals and organisations.
About being a Trustee
The Board meets three times a year plus our AGM in June, at Belgravia House or nearby, and is responsible for governance and policy making, as well as supporting the Director and team of five staff.
Do look at the current Trustees to see who else is on the Board.
Past or current experience of being a Trustee is desirable but not necessary. The role of Trustee is unpaid, but we will pay reasonable expenses such as travel.
