All systems go for the new VN awards
16 August 2006
After possibly the most extensive ever review of the veterinary nursing syllabus by the RCVS Awarding Body and an overhaul of the occupational standards by Lantra, the Awarding Body received the good news in June that the new NVQ awards and Certificates in Veterinary Nursing Theory had been accredited.
The VN Professional Syllabus, along with a brand new Candidate Handbook and the Occupational Standards, have now been returned from the printers.
In the coming weeks, we shall be sending these out to new candidates (starting with level 2 and progressing to level 3). We will also be sending copies, along with the new Centre Handbook, to Veterinary Nursing Approved Centres and Training Practices.
So far, we have received very positive feedback on the new documents.
We very much hope that everyone, candidates and trainers alike, will find the new awards exciting to work with and the new Candidate Handbook a big improvement on the old Portfolio.
