Details
The RCVS Fellowship Week is taking place between 30 September - 7 October 2021 and aims to showcase the variety and extent of the Fellowship’s knowledge-base. Online activities throughout the week include six Fellows of the Future student competition entries, and three Fellows in Focus presentations. The week will culminate with the virtual Fellowship Evening at 7.00pm on Thursday 7 October, where all new Fellows will be formally admitted to the Fellowship.

'Fellows of the Future?' competition
Twenty three veterinary students and recent graduates entered our Fellows of the Future competition and six finalists have been chosen to present their research as part of Fellowship Week. The finalists are:
- James Cockroft, University of Nottingham
- Georgina Hopkins, Royal Veterinary College
- Stephen John, University of Surrey
- Samuel Pearce, University of Bristol
- Amy Richardson, Royal Veterinary College
- Sophie Rosenzweig, University of Liverpool
'Fellows in Focus' presenters
There will be three Fellows in Focus talks delivered by current Fellows:
- Dr Mandy Peffers FRCVS, talk title: From bovine embryo transfer vet to Wellcome Trust Clinical Intermediate Fellow
- Dr Christopher Shales FRCVS, talk title: The integration of webinars within our practice
- Dr Joan Smyth FRCVS, talk title: Some discoveries of novel diseases and concepts through diagnostic veterinary pathology
Fellowship Evening - Thursday, 7 October
A live stream of the evening ceremony will be viewable from the Fellowship section of our website and is open to all RCVS members and associates.

Keynote Speaker
Tim Spector MD FMedSci FRSB, Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at Kings College London and scientific co-founder of ZOE ltd, will be delivering his talk titled: The Future of Personalised Nutrition.
Professor Spector is the epidemiologist behind the ground-breaking Covid Symptom Study app, an innovation which directly influenced how the UK responded to the pandemic, and for the last 25 years has been studying a cohort of 12,000 twins in the largest nutrition intervention of its kind, which has shown we all react differently to the same foods.
