Do you want to learn more about increasing self-compassion and reducing self-criticism?
During this Research Webinar, previous RCVS Mind Matters research grant recipients Dr Katherine Wakelin and Sarah Corthorne, will discuss the importance of self-compassion, provide an overview of their research and take part in a Q&A with participants. Their recent research involved conducting a randomised control trial to investigate the effectives of an online Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) intervention.
Following the success of the intervention, a free online course has now been launched for those within the Veterinary professions, which Katherine and Sarah will also introduce.
About the Researchers
Dr Katherine Wakelin
Katherine qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Surrey in 2021 after completing her doctoral studies in clinical psychology. Her specialist interest are complex trauma and compassion.
Sarah Corthorne
Sarah is a trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Surrey, working part time in the NHS rotating through different mental health placements and part time in research/teaching at the university. Sarah will qualify as a clinical psychologist September 2024.
