Details
We are launching our national MHFA accredited training and are inviting all members of the veterinary team to participate.
The hope is that delegates will use their training from MHFA to recognise mental health issues amongst their peers and themselves. It will illustrate effective signposting to appropriate services and a greater understanding of mental wellbeing and illness while strengthening a culture of recognising the importance of mental wellbeing.
This training will give a MHFA certificate with further support and will be delivered in-person and is being delivered by Mental Health First Aid England.
Learning outcomes
- An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma
- Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness
- Ability to spot the signs of mental ill health
- Skills to support positive wellbeing
- Confidence to support someone who is in distress or may be experiencing a mental health issue
Training will be delivered in-person and will not be recorded.
Course timings and schedule:
- 8:30 – 9:00 Arrival tea and coffee
- 9:00 – 10.30 Workshop
- 10:30 – 11:00 Break
- 11:00 – 12:30 Workshop
- 12:30 - 1:30 Lunch
- 1:30 – 3:00 Workshop
- 3:00 - 3:30 Afternoon break
- 3:30 – 5:00 Workshop and close
Lunch provided - please include your dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Cost:
The cost of this course at full capacity is £231 per delegate. With MMI funding the course is charged at a subsidised cost of £30 to delegates.
