We are delighted to be attending BSAVA Congress, which will take place between 21 - 23 March 2024 at Manchester Central exhibition and conference centre.
RCVS Stand
Across the three days of Congress, members of RCVS staff will be available on exhibitor stand number C510 to answer any queries and discuss our key projects for the year - come and say hello!

RCVS Mind Matters Initiative: Wellbeing Zone: 10:30 - 17:00 - Moral stress, moral injury, and psychological safety
This stream includes an introductive talk on the concepts of moral stress and injury, an introduction to veterinary mental health charity Vetlife, and a panel discussion exploring the role of ethical conversations in supporting yourself and your colleagues to navigate challenging events and experiences.
RCVS Education: Exhibition Theatre: 12:45-13:15 - An introduction to the 2024 extra-mural studies (EMS) policy and RCVS national EMS booking database
This session will provide delegates with an introduction to the new 2024 EMS Policy, highlighting the main changes that will be implemented from August this year. The session will also describe the functionality and scope of the new RCVS National EMS Booking Database which is currently under development.

RCVS Mind Matters Initiative: Central 5-7: 09:10 -17:40 - Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Delegates will explore the science behind OCD and PTSD and their impacts. As well as specific informative talks, this stream also includes two panel discussions centring around lived experience and workplace support for both OCD and PTSD

RCVS Veterinary Nursing: Exchange Auditorium: 08:30 - 09:20 - The past, present and future of RVNs
This panel session will look at What is schedule 3?, Updates to under care guidance and future opportunities for RVNs.
RCVS Education: Exhibition Theatre: 12:45-13:15 - Enhancing the Clinical Career Pathways For The Veterinary Profession
This session will give delegates a summary of the recently RCVS Council three approved workstream plans to expand and diversify the career options available to veterinary surgeons working in clinical practice and the plans for the next two years. Drawing heavily upon stakeholder input, The RCVS will be inviting the profession to engage with the work through focus groups, feedback and consultation at regular intervals. In this session we will provide information about how you can get involved.
