The role of the RVN is incredibly diverse, presenting numerous opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
In this Academy Live session, we will explore how to discover the areas that ignite your passion and how to identify the right training and development to pursue in those fields.
Who is this session for?
- This Academy session is aimed at RVNs, SVNs, and people working in veterinary practice management positions.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session, you will be able to:

- Recognise development opportunities that align with your professional interests and career growth
Session Speakers
Shirley Gibbins PgDip BSc (Hons) RVN
Shirley is a RVN and the Qualifications Lead in the Veterinary Nursing department at the RCVS. She is an experienced Quality Lead having worked in both the higher education and regulatory landscape. Shirley is passionate about quality improvement in healthcare, having achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Leading Quality Improvement with Distinction. She is now undertaking a PhD in Health Sciences with Bangor University, looking to develop advanced nursing in veterinary nursing.
