VetGDP e-portfolio
The e-portfolio is integral to the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP), and both VetGDP Advisers and veterinary graduates enrolled on the programme will use it to record and monitor progress. The e-portfolio has been designed to be intuitive to use, with the option to upload documents and photos to help record and reflect on cases as you progress through the programme.
In this video, you’ll be shown how to use the e-portfolio starting with the basics including how to login, Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) as well as options to complete the various fields within the e-portfolio. The video starts with information for VetGDP Advisers, and then switches over to information for graduates enrolled onto the programme at 12:08.
Workshop
We recently held an interactive workshop to help familiarise you with the VetGDP e-portfolio - it is available for you to watch on-demand. The workshop is hosted by Chair of Education Committee Dr Sue Paterson and you'll hear from our Education team as they demonstrate how to access the e-portfolio as well as key features. A significant portion of time is devoted to Q&As from the audience. We will also be holding more workshops over the coming months.
The e-portfolio includes:
- Separate sections for each EPA, with easy navigation within and across each one
- The ability to upload documents and dictate text into fields to record reflections and feedback
- Easy to view progress for each individual activity and across all EPAs in the programme
- Photos can be uploaded to record case-specific information
Graduates – you can record reflections, feedback and progress against the various activities you identify as being part of your role, known as 'Entrustable Professional Activites' (EPAs). The e-portfolio is flexible, so if you decide to move on to a new workplace before completing your VetGDP you can take your e-portfolio with you, and sign on with a new VetGDP Adviser. You may also amend your chosen EPAs if appropriate.
VetGDP Advisers – you will have access to the platform to support your graduate(s), with the ability to add your comments on either observed cases or activities, or progress review discussions. You will also be able to consider the evidence supporting progress across all activities with the graduate towards the end of the programme, to agree when to submit the portfolio to RCVS for final peer review.
