Conduct checks on live animals entering a border inspection post to comply with the relevant legislation.
Checks on live animals entering the UK are essential for safeguarding animal health and welfare, and preventing entry of exotic notifiable disease and protecting free trade. Checks must be carried out in a systematic and consistent way to comply with animal health legislation.

To have effectively carried out checks on live animals entering a border inspection post, in a systematic way and showing regard for animal welfare, including different animal species.
