Biography

PhD on red deer reproduction from Cambridge then established first commercial deer farm in UK. Exported red deer breeding stock worldwide. Awarded Queen's Award for Export in 1990.

Worked for Dalgety NZ locating deer breeding stock in Europe and exporting to New Zealand.

Sold on line venison business in 2005 and now breeding white red deer.

Founder President of Veterinary Deer Society, has been member of Farm Animal Welfare Committee, several times chair of British Deer Farms and Parks Association.

Lectured in many countries throughout the world and continue to lecture to MSc course on wildlife management at RVC.

First man in Scotland to donate a kidney altruistically.

Written three books on deer management, their history and the history of deer parks, and many chapters in other books.
