Biography


Sarah graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2007 and worked in small animal practice for two years before returning to Liverpool to undertake a rotating internship and then a residency in Oncology.
Sarah worked at Liverpool as a lecturer in Oncology for two years, and then as Principal Clinical Oncologist at The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital. She moved to private referral practice in 2018 where she continues to lead the oncology service and work as a specialist in Oncology and Radiation.
Sarah obtained the RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice in 2012, the ECVIM diploma in Oncology in 2014 and the ECVIM diploma in Radiation Oncology in 2019. Prior to training as a vet Sarah obtained a BSc in molecular biology and PhD in cancer biology at the University of Glasgow. She has published widely in veterinary oncology.
Her areas of interest include the optimisation of chemotherapy protocols for small animal neoplasia, contextualised care, radiation therapy and combined medical and radiation therapy treatment pathways.
Sarah has extensive teaching experience, including training of residents, and during her time at QVSH, she headed up and expanded the intern training program. She is currently secretary and president elect of the European Radiation Oncology Subspecialty executive committee and was instrumental in the formation of the discipline and establishing the European training program.
