Biography

Mark is a full-time consultant anatomic veterinary pathologist working with zoo, exotic and wildlife species including fish, at International Zoo Veterinary Group (IZVG) in Keighley, West Yorkshire. A 1996 University of Cambridge veterinary graduate, with pathology residency training from Liverpool Veterinary School and a Cambridge PhD investigating remyelination in the central nervous system, he joined IZVG in 2003. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Pathology (Zoo and Wildlife). Mark was President of the British Veterinary Zoological Society between 2015 and 2017. He is an author or co-author of over 80 peer-reviewed publications and speaks regularly in the field of zoo, wildlife and aquatic pathology.
