Biography
Francesco Cian graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Padua (Italy) in 2007. Following several years in general practice, he completed a residency in Veterinary Clinical Pathology at the University of Cambridge. In 2013, he obtained board certifications from the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP) and the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). Since 2015, Francesco has worked as a Clinical Pathologist in a diagnostic laboratory in the UK called Batt Lab and part of the LABOKLIN group.
He has authored three cytology books, which have been translated into several languages and he has co-authored the cytology chapter of the latest edition of the BSAVA Manual of Clinical Pathology.
Francesco serves as the secretary of the ECVCP college and is a member of the Examination Committee for the cytology section.
He is dedicated to veterinary education, actively collaborating with various educational companies and utilising social media to provide postgraduate education in cytology to veterinarians. He has also been the first Veterinary Clinical Pathologist to integrate digital cytology in online courses.
