Biography
Emi is a RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine, with research interests in companion animal systemic bacterial and viral infections. She has been invited to speak around the world on various companion animal medicine topics at conferences and CPD events. She is also an active researcher in the use of molecular diagnostics to investigate and diagnose disease following on from her doctoral research project on companion animal (predominantly feline) haemotrophic mycoplasma infection and post-doctoral research on feline coronavirus molecular epidemiology. She is currently a referral clinician within a university teaching hospital with post-graduate supervision and undergraduate teaching responsibilities. She was awarded the BSAVA Woodrow Award for Contributions to the Advancement of Small Animal Medicine by a Qualified Veterinarian in 2023 and has published widely (ORCID iD 0000-0001-6293-6662).
