Biography
Chris Laurence qualified from Bristol and went immediately into practice.
After a year of mixed practice he moved to Chippenham and small animal practice.
In 1998 he was appointed Chief Veterinary Officer of the RSPCA and subsequently moved to Dogs Trust in 2003 as their Veterinary Director.
Chris retired in 2011 and has since been active in a number of animal welfare charities. He is currently Chair of the BVA Animal Welfare Foundation, a trustee of his local RSPCA Branch and Chair of the South West RSPCA Regional Board. Chris is also Chair of the Canine and Feline Sector Group of the England Animal Health and Welfare Board.
Chris was awarded the MBE for services to animal welfare in 2007.
