Biography
Anna Meredith is Professor of Zoological and Conservation Medicine. She qualified from Cambridge in 1991 and joined the University of Edinburgh in 1992. In 2018 she moved to Australia as Head of Melbourne Veterinary School and returned to the UK and the University of Edinburgh in August 2022. Anna is an RCVS and European Specialist in Zoological Medicine and Wildlife Population Health. She has held a number of internal and external national and international senior leadership and governance roles, including as Chair of DEFRA's Zoos Expert Committee, member of the Scottish Science Advisory Council, and Board member of Wildlife Health Australia and Zoos Victoria. She is a member of the RCVS Fellowship Science Advisory Panel. In 2019 she was awarded an OBE for services to animal welfare and the veterinary profession.
