Biography
Andrew became an ECVDI specialist in veterinary diagnostic imaging in 2010. He works as a full time diagnostic imaging specialist in teleradiology. He was the Head of service at a large multi-disciplinary hospital in the West Midlands and Head of the Diagnostic Imaging Service at Linnaeus.
Andrew is Past-President of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). The College is responsible for setting standards in diagnostic imaging across Europe, as well as increasing the competence of those in this field. Its main goal is to ensure its members are equipped to provide the highest quality of veterinary care and advanced knowledge in veterinary diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology and to help them disseminate that knowledge. In his tenure, he has made a number of changes to allow specialist training to become more accessible to veterinary practitioners with an interest in diagnostic imaging, without compromising standards of training.
Amongst a number of RCVS and ECVDI committee positions in his career as a specialist radiologist, Andrew has been an examiner for the ECVDI diploma, in order to help improve and disseminate knowledge and competence in veterinary diagnostic imaging.
Andrew’s research interests include computed tomography angiography and in particular, morphology of portosystemic shunts. He has numerous publications in the field of diagnostic imaging in peer-reviewed journals, and is the author of several book chapters within the field.
