First applicant from new accession countries admitted to RCVS
13 July 2004
The first applicant from one of the countries to accede to the EU on 1 May 2004 was admitted to the RCVS today.
Dr Zuzana Tuveri from Slovakia qualified in June 2002 at Kosice University, and moved to the UK in December 2002 to join her husband who works as a riding instructor.
Since arriving in the UK she has worked in various animal-related jobs whilst waiting for Slovakia to join the EU.
Her main interest is in exotic animals and she is particularly experienced in working with reptiles.
She hopes to extend her knowledge in this field by working for RCVS postgraduate qualifications in zoo and wildlife medicine and also by studying for an MSc in Wild Animal Health at the Royal Veterinary College.
